business, finance, and construction experts. Here’s a quick look at the partners who are
directing the company’s efforts:

Todd McWhirter - Manager
Director of Finance
Todd, a co-founder of Modo, has spent his recent years in both the real estate industry
and specializing in the early-growth stages of numerous start-up companies. Todd has
successfully purchased, refurbished, sold, or rented out 12 properties. He also is the
founder and managing partner of Oldham Beckley Investment Group, where he has
played leadership roles in starting or funding more than a dozen companies. Prior to this,
he was a decorated sales manager at the Southwestern Company, a marketer of familyoriented
reference products, where he built a sales organization of more than 130 in eight
states. Leading by example, Todd totaled almost $1 million in personal sales, ranking him
#3 of all time. As a sales manager, his team held the highest per-person sales average in
the company with a total organization revenue of more than $1.3 million. Todd earned a
Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Tennessee, and holds a Master’s
Degree in Theology from Wheaton College.

Matt Lewallen - Manager
Director of Operations
Matt, a co-founder of Modo, brings extensive experience and expertise in scheduling and
budgeting multi-million-dollar projects. While at Washington Group International, Matt
regularly budgeted and scheduled projects in a range of more than $250 million. He
estimated and created projects exceeding $1 billion, in which he oversaw and was
responsible for the details of budgeting through completion. Matt spent six summers
working for the Southwestern Company, where he annually finished in the top 5% of
sales. He has successfully bought and refurbished multiple properties that either created
profits when sold or are cash-generating rentals. He earned a Bachelor of Science in
structural engineering at the University of Wyoming.

Kevin Calame - Manager
Director of Business Development
Kevin, a co-founder of Modo, brings stability, growth experience, and vision to the
organization. Previously, he spent nine years with the Southwestern Company. During
that time, he built a sales organization of more than 75 people in nine states. Along with
building his sales organization, Kevin’s credits include “top first-year sales person,” top
experienced sales person,” and “top student manager.” He also has successfully bought
and refurbished several properties which created profits when sold or are cash-generating
rentals. Kevin graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s Degree in fine arts.

Mike Hillegas - Manager
Director of Construction
Mike’s extensive experience ranges from customer service to information technologies to
construction. As a stock broker and team leader for Merrill Lynch, Mike dealt with multimillion-
dollar accounts, as well as stock option and 401k plans. Mike’s construction
experience dates back to the late 1990’s when he built homes for one of the largest
builders in the Denver area. This experience led to a contract with a private investment
company remodeling a 250-unit apartment complex. In addition, he was a partner in a
heating and air conditioning company that handled residential and commercial contracts
in Colorado and Wyoming. Mike’s ability to bridge the “big picture” and the details of
day-to-day operations makes him an invaluable asset to the company. Mike spent two
years studying mechanical engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, and then earned
a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and Management
Science from the Metropolitan State College of Denver.
